Max's community garden combines homegrown produce with social exchange; DE

Urban gardening, where city-dwellers rent part of a field to grow their own produce, is very popular in German cities like Berlin, Hamburg, or Stuttgart. Farmer Max has been renting out a field since 2010, but instead of parcelling it up into squares, his field is round and segmented into slices, thereby creating a more social space.
